Connection interrupted in jaymod

Added by palota 7 months ago

I start new topic about jaymod, because I play game only locally. Other topics are about connecting to online dedicated servers.
I have ETL 2.75, Jaymod 2.2, Windows 7 64bit.
I use commands map or devmap to load maps.
Usually the first map is loading indefinitely in loop (it always starts again when progress reaches 100%). If I press ESC and try again, then the map is loaded successfully.
The big text Connection interrupted is displayed immediately after a map is loaded. Game is running and I can see omni-bots playing, but I can’t move. It happens every time on any map.
In the console there’s some Com_TouchMemory line with negative number.
If I use command map_restart, then everything is OK and I can play.
I have found workaround. It works if I start both etlded.exe and etl.exe and connect to IP 127.0.0.1.

How do you start the the jaymod listen server? Via mod menu or start param etl.exe +set fs_game jaymod?

From what I can see in your attached file the jaymod install is in fs_homempath?
For listen servers of other mods there is a need for a proper install in fs_basepath see https://dev.etlegacy.com/projects/etlegacy/wiki/Path_and_File_Structure#Basepath-fs_basepath - or in other words you have to extend our install by mod install files.
The qagame mod binary is a must have for fs_basepath.

Keep in mind if you don’t define an extra fs_homepath for local games your fs_homepath might be polluted by custom pk3s from online games. The etl clean cmd should do the trick as well.

I use parameter +set fs_game jaymod.
I usually install mods in fs_basepath. I copied jaymod folder to fs_homepath just for testing. Now I deleted it, but nothing changed.

I’ve found and fixed an issue with the pid file check causing my jaymod listen server not to start properly. Good find - this fixes more than this - creating profiles in general should no longer do vid_restart loops.
